Instagram officially launches Remix option for Reels

There’s no denying that Tik Tok has blown up in the last year, but does that mean your business needs to be there?

Each social platform is unique in its own way, and although that new shiny object may be tempting (or even overwhelming), it doesn’t always mean your business has to start a new account each time a platform pops up!

In fact, Instagram has caught on to the success that Tik Tok has had and has incorporated new features on their own platform that mimic Tik Tok. The great thing about this? If you’re already using Instagram, and have an audience there, you get to delve into similar features that Tik Tok offers, without having to create a new account from scratch.

First, Instagram offered Reels, which has now become their bread and butter, in conjunction with Instagram Stories. 

And now? They’re slowly dripping their newest feature, Instagram ‘Remix’, which is a nod to Tik Tok’s ‘Duets’, where a creator can pair their original video with another user’s video in split-screen mode. Brands can then create a reaction clip, with the original and new video playing side-by-side. This gives users the ability to respond to trends, and engage in viral memes.

Currently, this feature is being offered to certain accounts, so not everyone has access to it yet. In the meantime, if your business hasn’t played around with Reels, and the feature makes sense for your brand, go for it! Get used to the feature now so that if the day comes and ‘Remix’ becomes available to every user, your business will be prepared to add it to the mix!
